Radon mitigation: work tailored to your building

We design and carry out work to reduce radon concentrations in occupied rooms over the long term. The solution starts with a diagnosis of your building and includes checks of its effectiveness.

Describe my project
01

Radon in brief

Radon is an invisible, odourless radioactive gas that occurs naturally in the ground. It can enter buildings and accumulate in indoor air. Prolonged exposure increases the risk of lung cancer. A measurement establishes its concentration and helps assess the need for mitigation.

02

Choosing a solution based on the diagnosis

The solution depends on the construction, ground-contact spaces and measurement results. We examine possible entry or transfer routes and the building’s constraints. Trials may be carried out to choose the system and check its effect before permanent installation.

03

Work suited to the building

Depending on the situation, the intervention may combine depressurisation beneath the building, appropriate ventilation and sealing work. We design and implement the selected solution. The quotation specifies the scope of work, based on the diagnostic results and available access.

04

Checking effectiveness after the work

A post-mitigation check verifies the effect of the work and allows adjustments if necessary. Long-term dosimeter measurement completes this verification under the applicable protocol.

Dosimeters are part of this follow-up. In dwellings, recognised measurement lasts at least 90 days during the heating season, from October to March; the FOPH recommends a full year. The short check does not replace this measurement.

05

Prepare your mitigation project

Attach existing results with measurement dates and rooms, available plans and any proposed alterations. We assess whether these documents are sufficient or whether further diagnosis is useful.
