Asbestos and pollutant surveys in the canton of Jura

In Jura, the Environment Office’s guidance addresses pollutants in built elements. It covers building materials as well as possible contamination from previous activities.

We work throughout Switzerland. State your preferred language for discussions and the report when enquiring.

Describe my project
01

Examine visible and concealed materials

The guidance requires a survey where waste containing hazardous substances is expected. It mentions asbestos in buildings constructed or renovated before 1991, PCBs, heavy metals and PAHs. The investigation covers the areas affected by conversion or deconstruction, including concealed materials or materials in inaccessible areas.

02

Connect the survey with the permit and waste planning

The canton places this step at the start of permit preparation. The findings define the measures needed and disposal routes. Also describe previous uses of the premises: they may guide investigations beyond construction materials.

03

Useful information for Jura

  • The building’s current address and municipality.
  • Conversion or deconstruction plans and known renovations.
