Asbestos and pollutant surveys in the canton of Nidwalden
In Nidwalden, dossier preparation considers waste volume as well as building use and volume. These criteria need to be distinguished to determine the documents required.
We work throughout Switzerland. State your preferred language for discussions and the report when enquiring.
Describe my projectAdditional cantonal criteria
The cantonal page requires a disposal concept above 200 m³ of waste, including excavation, or where pollutants are expected. It also mentions cantonal requirements for industrial or commercial buildings and building volumes from 1,000 m³.
A declaration does not prove the absence of pollutants
Where a declaration by a person with construction expertise is sufficient, unanalysed suspect material remains classified as contaminated and must be managed accordingly. The canton distinguishes this approach from specialist investigation and also provides for investigations of affected contaminated soil or sites.
Information to specify in Nidwalden
- Current and previous building use, and its volume if known.
- Estimated deconstruction material quantities, separate from excavation.
- Available plans and analysis results.
