Since September 2023, the canton has required specific authorisation for deconstruction beyond minor cases. The Building Inspectorate’s guidance specifies the scope for each project.
The disposal concept submitted with the application
The canton requires it when more than 200 m³ of waste is expected or materials may contain pollutants. Investigations must therefore be prepared during planning. The concept becomes binding when the building or deconstruction permit is issued.
Preparing a project in Basel-Landschaft
- Specify whether the project is renovation, partial deconstruction or complete deconstruction.
- Attach plans, existing reports and the waste estimate.
- Send correspondence with the Building Inspectorate about authorisation.
