Asbestos and pollutant surveys in the canton of Vaud
A project in Vaud should be prepared with the type of work and the building’s age in mind. The canton distinguishes pre-work surveys from surveys carried out during normal building use.
We work throughout Switzerland. State your preferred language for discussions and the report when enquiring.
Describe my projectThe survey accompanying the permit application
For buildings constructed before 1991, alterations, renovation or demolition requiring authorisation need an asbestos survey attached to the permit application. The cantonal supplements to the directive specify that it must be less than three years old when submitted to the municipality.
Defining the extent of investigations
The canton sets scope rules for partial surveys and certain privately used buildings. An older report alone therefore cannot define the investigations needed for a new project. The cantonal page also calls for asbestos investigation before work on pre-1991 buildings even where no authorisation is required.
Useful documents for your Vaud project
- Send any existing report with its date and appendices.
- Specify the building type and areas affected by the work.
- Include any permit-related instructions already received from the municipality.
